I first noticed one being ridden by a girl in a TV commercial about a year or so ago. The brand certainly goes back a long way.
Aren't they made in India? They're very reasonably priced too compared to other brand names.

Yes they're made in India.:)
I was over there in September on holiday and they were very popular.
Saw them transporting families and even 2 blokes on one carrying an 8' x 4':eyepop::rofl:

Nice looking bike indeed. Very nostalgic looks. :)
Apparently, the handling and ride is pretty nostalgic too, for those of use who remember riding similar machines back in the 50s or 60s. :)
I was seriously considering an Enfield a while back, and did some research. They are indeed made in India, where they are of course a lot cheaper than they are here. The consensus seemed to be that they look great and are splendid for getting from A to B, but if you are planning a longer journey - say to C or D - or, heaven forbid, even X,Y or Z then you might be better off with something a bit more modern.
There's a book called "Journey's Blend" which details the ride taken by three guys visiting numerous whisky distilleries on motorcycles and collecting samples to make a blend. There were two Triumphs and an Enfield. The guy who rode the Enfield was not just slower, he apparently had a pretty hard time of it physically on the longer sections, and copped a fair bit of teasing from the other two.
For fans of bikes, and whisky, there's a 5 part TV show they made of the trip on Youtube, and a book on Kindle. Part 1 of 5 in the link below (warning - a lot of it is about whisky not just bikes)

Anyway, I bought a Honda instead..:)
In Perth the Enfield 350 is a bit under $6,500 licensed on the road, and for the same money you can get a Honda CBR300RA ABS. https://www.hondashop.com.au/product/learner-lams/honda-cbr300ra-abs/
I got a Honda CBR500RA twin which is a delight to ride. But not quite as cute as the Enfield, in that splendidly old fashioned way of course...

Well known Isle of Man TT racer Guy Martin also made a TV show about a trip across India on an Enfield. It was called "Our Guy in India" and was in several parts. It can probably still be found with a bit of Googling.

 Yes. Made in India and they are a very sorted bike now with disc brakes. , fuel injection and quality tires they actually go quite well I know this as we ride with a guy who has one .
Cool bikes that sound awesome on full song .
On the BMW yes these and the new Harley Davidson ' Street 750 and Street 500 ' are also made in India , good build quality as they are made to HD,s expected quality today , not the HD quality of yesteryear ;) .
Flash. , I wouldn't mind one for riding to work on , make the day fun before I started work.
Brian.

Wow! Amazing skills.
Almost worth buying the bike just to have an example of craftsmanship like that in the bike shed. :)
I need to stop watching Enfield videos before I weaken and start coveting one all over again...
And of course, Dwayne rides an Enfield in the TV show Death in Paradise, with a sidecar! One of my all time nostalgia dreams right there...

I even got as far as pricing sidecars...
Sigh.... :)

Unfortunately Alex, I'll be in a box myself well before the 25 years are up. :)
And I might have trouble finding the petrol to run them by then...:screwy:

Now THAT'S a proper bike!
In the spirit of drooling over old-fashioned ironmongery - here's a pic of another 350cc bike. But this one is a proper oldie not a modern retro.
It's a ZB31 BSA from somewhere around 1950/2. A friend from Tasmania rode it all the way across the Nullarbor to Perth a few years back. Well, nearly all the way... The clutch packed up a few hundred ks short of the target. So I got to look after it for a while... As you can see, in true BSA fashion, it began dripping oil the moment it arrived.. :)

I don't want it but I needed to show it.
I mean I have crazy ideas but get up the next day and don't do them.
Imagine getting up and saying that the 48 cylinder bike is a good idea start building.

One of my goals was to make my own fuel for a bike.
A doomsday possibility.
I would like a golf cart with solar panelled roof.
I enjoyed my bike days.
Little on the roads ..safer.
