Had nothing better to do, so I dug up a couple of Pendant pics from several years ago, and played around with the wide field one a bit.

Sometimes nothing better to do that reprocess old data and try to do a better job :) With Melbournes weather at the moment, it's all I've got to do hehe

Nice looking pics Raymo. Not familiar with that nickname for any star clusters, so I googled it and Mr google couldn't help me out either lol. So does this one have another name?

It is NGC 3293, otherwise known as The Pendant, and lies adjacent to
the Gabriella Mistral Nebula. It is very similar to the Jewel Box, but in
my opinion has more interesting star patterns within it. It is more commonly known
as The Gem Cluster. It is referred to as The Pendant in the book "Imaging The Southern Sky,
[an excellent book, by the way].

Cheers for that, now I know where I am looking. I've observed that one before but the nebulosity in your wide field pic threw me a bit, which would be fairly faint visually I suppose.

It is invisible to my octogenarian's eyes.

Thank you Dunkrick [or Rickdunk], the first one sounds like a name from
Ye Old England, perhaps a relation of Baldrick.:):)
I'll see if I can dig up something else.
They must be scraping the bottom of the barrel; I have a pic in the next issue of S&T.

With darkish skies and a filter, I was able to pick up the nebulosity reasonably easily. I saw this object for the first time a month ago and was blown away by what a lovely visual pairing the cluster + nebulosity make. Lovely shots too Raymo!
