Ahoy Comrades!
Finally I had a bit of free time to tweak spacing and orthogonality with my new telescope. There is still some room for improvement, but will leave it as is for now. I am kind off trading quality at f/6 (with just a flattener) for speed at f/4.5 (with a 0.75 reducer), but given my limited imaging time this is a good compromise.
Last night I collected twelve 15-minute Ha subs from Paddy in Brisbane.
CFF 105 mm with a small Riccardi reducer (about 480mm FL), f/4.5 and 3.69 micron pixels. Flats+bias were applied, no processing whatsoever except for star alignment and integration. This is a work in progress image :-)

Thank you for looking!

Nice sharp dragons there Suavi. Is a mosaic on the cards?

Superb detail and very wide field at the same time! The reducer seems a really good idea.

Thank you all for a very kind feedback :)
I have not planned a mosaic, would like to get a full tri-colour narrowband image first, but who knows, if weather gods will permit
Mike - are you planning to use a Sony chip with you newest baby, or perhaps you have something different up your sleeve? :)
This reducer was a bit of a challenge in terms of correct spacing and alignment, but I think the effort was well worth it and resulted in a refractor gobbling up photons at f/4.5.
I entertained an idea of going faster with a reflector, but wavelength shift would start affecting efficiency of 3nm filters at faster f-ratios, plus a central obstruction and less than 100% mirror reflectivity would further decrease system's efficiency, and I would get a narrower field due to a longer FL...so for now this telescope will have to do

Nah...that tiny thing :eyepop:what a waste of an 88mm corrected image circle  Hey, t'is a wonderful little camera and a great match for the 12" F3.8 on small things but I want WIIIIDE field  so I will be using my FLI Proline 16803 & CFW-5-7 + MMOAG = 4deg X 4deg FOV @ 3.5"/pix :)
Mate! Looks like a keeper to me looking at this latest shot

Very good image and the detail
it would be good in RGB

@Mike - 4x4 deg field will be awesome  and with super fast FSQ+KAF16803 combo you will be manufacturing several images a week!
Thank you Martin, I am planning a tri-colour narrowband image, because cannot really do RGB from my location (about 2km from Brisbane's CBD).

Nice one Suavi. Tantilising though. You almost have NGC6164 in the field. You can see the little butterfly shaped Ha wave that surrounds it in your shot.
Perhaps you could pull that image up a bit and get it in the frame. It fits in the frame I get with the Honders and 16803 and I think it makes it a much more compelling image to include it.
At worse its a 2nd iamge mosaic coming up!
Looking very impressive so far.
Greg.

Really nice Suavi! Looks like your spacing is a bit better than your test shot showed earlier. Gotta be happy with that :) Now just finish off the OIII & SII!

Nice & Sharp + tiny stars = winner!
Look forward to seeing what you come up with in colour

Thank you Greg, Colin and Andy for your comments. It feels great to be back and imaging again :-)
Greg - yours is a splendid idea. Will have a look if I manage to squeeze NGC6164-5 into this image :)
Nowadays not so famous KAF-8300 would actually work beautifully with my system; it would double the real estate and would nearly double the speed...hmmmm...
Mike's FOV with his new shiny rig will be humongous - I took this image some time ago with an FSQ and KAF11000: http://www.astrobin.com/full/177429/0/?nc=user
Awesome stuff!

Congrats on the first light Suavi, looks fantastic. Salivating over seeing the triband soon. Will be giving my 10 inch first light this weekend, yay!

Thank you Martin for your kind feedback.
Thank you Dunk, glad you like it :-)
Thank you Jerome. 3nm filters certainly help to keep star sizes in check.
Thank you Simon. Awaiting a clear night to start collecting OIII. 10inch sounds awesome - looking forward to seeing the results of first light
