Comet C/2015 V2 (Johnson) from last night. About magnitude 8 at the moment in the evening sky. Single 5 minute exposure, 10" F4 Newt, Canon 1100Dfs.

Nice catch Kevin. I have been following the comet visually since early June.

I was wondering when you would get around to this one. Nicely captured, that camera really gets the faint stuff and your tracking must be spot on for a 5min sub.

Thanks Steve and Rick. The 5 min sub was guided Rick. But I am having issues going over a minute or two at times. Haven't diagnosed the problem yet.

If you are using the finder guider, I found that nipping everything up really tight helped a lot, micro movements in the finder mess things up on the main image, good balance helps a lot too but not so fussy with the small guider. I recalibrate the guider for different parts of the sky as well.

Yeah it's probably differential flexure of some kind. Could be anywhere in either imaging train.
