This is an image of NGC3532 I took back in 2015. I had a FB friend (George Hatfield) source the RAW files from me and he did a re-process with PI. The smaller pic here is his processing. The larger one at astrobin is mine.

I notice I seem to be quite heavy handed at processing a lot of my images compared to some. I like to see images ooze noise before I stop! I'd also like to know to get stars that small in CS5 without worms lol!

That's really nice, Kevin! Your version brought out more of the nebulosity in the area, but I do like the subtlety of your friend's. I think a mix of both would be about perfect.

Agreed with Lee :)
Both are lovely, just enhance different parts of the field better.

Thanks Lee and Colin. PI does make for a nice look to astro pics but I really don't want to learn new software all over again. I'm stuck in my ways. (Must be getting old) :P

Looks nice Kevin

BTW, PI is not that difficult to learn to successfully process data. I personally have found PI much easier to familiarise myself with than PS, which I found quite beyond my capacity to learn to operate...:(

Thanks Suavi. Well maybe one day I'll give pi a go. Still have more to learn with PS though too.
