Here is your chance to grab some aperture for a bargain price! :)

* 12" GSO Dobsonian
* Mirror fan.
* Rack and pinion focuser (sorry, I'm keeping the 10:1 Crayford).
* White OTA - much nicer than grey. :)
* 50mm straight-through finder (white also :)).

Unfortunately there are few scratches in the paint from transport (moving in and out of a hatchback). Batteries for fan not included.

$500 pick up from Mt Waverley (Melbourne SE).

ps. I'll post some photos later tonight.

Sale pending, but here are the photos anyway, and some more info:

* Scope is 8 months old.
* I just noticed that the mirror has quite a bit of dust and crud on it as you can see pretty well from the photo. I think most of the black bits-o-crud are flaking off from the felt GSO use to make the OTA cover a snug fit. :rolleyes: - and probably also fluff from my cotton gloves I wear on cold nights :ashamed: - I have never cleaned the mirror.
* Crayford in photo not included, but I will include either a rack and pinion or a crayford focuser (depending on what is on my new scope coming within the next day or so :))
* Fan is the same size and fitted same way as those supplied with the GSO "Deluxe" Dobs. (Not quite the baffled monster fan I used to have on it but much better than no fan.) It does need to be hooked up to a battery. 12V for full power, or 9V for quieter operation.

Hi Steve, that is a really keen price regardless of bolt ons!!
Were you not happy with the scope or optics in any way?

Sorry I didnt mean to pry, but it could be possible for me to have it picked up.

Stephen, I am "rationalising" my telescope collection. I am selling the 12, and eventually also the 8" gso, and buying a 10" dob, which is the best aperture vs comfort/portability compromise for me. I bought the 12" in the heat of aperture fever, and have been very happy with the views through it esp from dark locations, but I've been finding the bulk of the scope awkward to manage. Having to lug it down a flight of stairs at home also means that it only very rarely gets used here.

Please note, sale is pending pick up by buyer on Friday.

Thanks Steve, i am not certain i can organise and compete with the Friday purchase and pick up offer.

I have a 1 YO GSO 10" dob, not to old. in excellent condition in every way with premium bells and whistles. Photos are available.

Interested in talking ?

Sorry, I was not clear on that. There is no need to "compete". I have already agreed to sell the scope to a buyer who will come to pick it up and pay for it on Friday. Unless for some unforeseen reason this deal falls through, the scope is sold.
