PMX limits issue

Last night noticed my guiding was a bit off so decided to do a T point run. Homed scope and pointed at arcturus and synched, which was low down in NE and away from meridian. Got this message...
The mount is at the maximum or min position and cannot be slewed, this error might be the result of an inproper synch on the meridian. When synching nr meridian be sure to have OTA and synch star on opp sides of meridian"
So I shut down, restarted and homed, this time I noticed although the scope looked like it was physically in the home position the bullseye marker on the SKYX was way lower than I would expect for my horizon limits.
Then tried again and got same message. tried to change the axis limits in telescope tools to -2.5 hrs both axis and tried again- nope.
What is happening here? It worked ok Saturday.
the tracking was awful as well.
i noticed last time i tightened cam stop that there was a bit of wear on the belts. Could debris on the encoders cause this?
Or have i acidentally changed my software limits unknowingly?
i deleted all my synch hx and started again but got same message.

Graham,check encoders cable.....I experience something similar when I inadvertently crushed a dec encoder cable.....new cable fixed the problem.

Surprisingly easy to do when re installing the worm:(

Sorted- I had three co factors contributing- possible dust or something on encoder that moved when I exercised the mount, I deleted the synch hx and this also reset me to the Northern hemisphere! and my DEC guiding calibration was not truned on for some reason- all happy now :thanx:
