Taken about a year ago with IR modded 1200D on ED80, mounted on belt-modded EQ5.
Location = <5km from Perth CBD, i.e. light pollution central.

Total exposure = 4h (80 x 3min) taken over two nights (+ darks, flats and bias).
Stacked in DSS and processed in StarTools.

Very faint and noisy, stretched as much as I could. At least the galaxy arms are recognisable. Few other small fuzzies are also visible in the image.

To put things in perspective how much larger the galaxy arms are and how much of the galaxy is not visible in this image, one of the outside arms extends to the 11'o clock fuzzy in the ESO image of the galaxy.

6744 is a very difficult object. You have done very well with an ED80!

Thank you Kevin. I thought adding more data to improve the S/N ratio but after 4h exposure I doubt it will make much difference. Probably need to move to darker site...
