Hi everyone,
I have a Skywatcher 12'' GoTo scope.
When I am focusing on stars, I am getting a flare on the side of them, which is very annoying.
I feel like it is a collimation issue but not sure.

The things I have been using for collimation include:
Farpoint eyepiece cap

Orion collimating eyepiece

Glatter collimator

Glatter TuBlug

I feel like everything is lined up, but I don't seem to be getting it.
Just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience?

If someone is located nearbye, I would love them to have a look.
Approximately 25 minutes from Wangaratta, North East Victoria.

Any information or help would be much appreciated.

When you defocus a star how do the collimation rings appear? Suggest you read Astrobaby's excellent article on collimation, which should still be available here in the "Projects and Articles" subforum.

Hi Glen,
I have tried that defocusing of stars.
I am not able to make out that many rings, but what I can see is that it looks as if it is in the center.
Will have a look at that article from Astrobab, see if I can understand it.

Regards
Michael
