Longmore 11 is not a particularly spectacular object but it's one of the huge numbers of obscure planetary nebulae out there. Unlike many, it's reasonably large (1 minute in diameter). I couldn't find much information about it on the web.

Cheers

That's a great catch Steve!

I love seeing less common objects...good on you!

Very well done!!

Thanks Tim. I too like the more obscure stuff.

Thanks. Not sure if I would call it cute.

Very nice indeed.

Quite reminiscent of NGC 246. Took me a while to persuade myself it wasn't. Must be similar mechanisms at work producing the shape.

Best,
Mike

Thanks M&T. Many of these things certainly have similar shapes.

As an afterthought I just added a 200% crop and boosted the saturation a bit.

Quite an interesting little thing, not much bigger than Jupiter :)

Which is actually fairly big for a planetary nebula

I agree with M&T, first thing I thought too, re NGC 246 :)

Nice job, was this a Rasool suggestion?

They are indeed everywhere and most make great shots

Thanks Mike. Yes this was indeed a Rasool suggestion. Going to try another one tonight if my currently extremely sore leg allows.

Thanks guys. Going after an even more difficult one tonight. I'm not sure whether "cute" is the right term. Someone has said it looks a bit like a faberge egg.
