NGC 2903- stack of 15 thirty second images. Levels adjusted in Photoshop and noise removed in Neat Image.

wow :jawdrop: that's a great M104, seeker. what did yo use for stacking? Registax or Photoshop. If you used PS what was your technique?

Wow! Those are amazing, espessiouly M104. Its beautiful! Gonna try to find M104 tonight.:D

EDIT: Well, couldn't find it. Perhaps not the best object for a begginer?:P

I used Photoshop-manual stacking...
registax cant handle the file size I find

I use "difference" as blend mode and try and align each frame to get it as close to completely dark as possible when aligning, then switch to normal blend mode before flattening the layers. Hope this makes sense

Do it one image at a time. Bit of a pain of course

Hi Chrissyo, give you a hint to finding 104, look for that group of stars Seeker has in his great shot, top right hand corner , they will be seen in a small finder just follow them down to 104, you should see a faint smudge in small scopes but the bright core is easily seen.

Very nice photos Seeker, (M104 photo) the star cluster in the top right is the hockey stick that was mentioned in another post.

Love the pic showing the pointer hockey stick stars and the galaxy, shows them up well. Good tracking too. This was my first galaxy I saw in light polluted skies of Adelaide through a 4" reflector.

I was able to crop the NGC 2903 image so I could post closer to actual pixels..hopefully more detail even after re sizing for posting

Its not all that hard to find. I have observed M104 with my 20 x80 binos at the Star party in Wiruna, and have observed it with binos at other times.Usually from a dark site though. Very hard from my backyard

Have a go tonight..and use the hockey stick pointers that Mick and Westsky have mentioned , I think you will find M104

here's a picture of M104 taken with an ETX 70 and a webcam that is probably more represntative of the view through a pair of binos or a small scope

I'd say m104 is one of the easier galaxies to see under light polluted conditions.
