Hi Everyone,

It's been a while for me, but i now have the ability to get back in to my favorite hobby. At the same time I'm getting back into astrophotography (har har...). ahem.

So, building from scratch, I just obtained an MI-250 mount from Cris which is on it's way. Will take a little time to set up on my pier and align etc but I'm looking to build a whole imaging train on what will probably be an RC 10". I'll be using my old QHY8 to begin with.

Question is, should I build the imaging train to suit 48mm or t-thread (which I think is 42mm)? 48mm may be slightly more stable perhaps? any thoughts?

Thanks for looking,
Simon.

Go 48mm so that you don't find yourself wishing you did later on if you decide to put a FX DSLR on the scope at some point.

42mm will not fully cover an FX sensor where as the 48mm will.
