Hi all.
Took these last week (6th Dec) at the Hawkesbury/Brooklyn as dawn approached. The colours blew me away, and made me very happy I made the effort to get out there before sunrise.
All taken with the 350D + 17-70 sigma lens, on the Manfrotto 055ProB tripod.
ISO100, raw mode, f/11, exposures varied depending on the time, from 3s earlier on, to 1/60s towards the end.
Processed in RawShooterPremium followed by Photoshop for resize+sharpen.
Thanks for looking.

Thanks for your comments. Sometimes you just get lucky when the clouds are at the right altitude and the sun lights them up with spectacular colours.
It's amazing how quickly it can change.. the last shot shows how the colours are changing to more yellow/blue from the lovely purples and reds and oranges from just a few minutes earlier.

Beautiful shots Mike.
I like the pelican taxiing for take off.
As my brother keeps telling me - the light is usually only right for a particular photo for about 15 seconds, so you better be ready for it. Rich sunrise and sunset colours like that are one benefit of all the smoke in the air... glad you made the most of it.
Al.
Stunning colour, beautiful composition and great perspective give these shots a professional look that capture the essence of sunrise.
Superb work Mike, I can only imagine how they'd look printed, framed and hung on the wall.

Thanks Al, leon, RB, Phil and Petra.
Appreciate the nice words. I'm enjoying my photography at the moment - it's about all I can do with the weather here lately.
