Hi All,
Thanks David AstralTraveller's for the location of this site. This was the best part of our groups Dubbo Trip. They enjoyed it more than the Zoo, and we returned for a second night with all the kids all were awestruck. To date they had only heard me speak of my naked eye view experience at Ilford Starparty many years ago.
Second night at Ponto Falls on the Weekend took my DSLR this time. We had some fog come in very suddenly but still manged to catch some photons.
This is my first attempt at the Milky Way.
Taken with Nikon D600 Tamron 24-70mm/F2.8
24@2.8 20sec exposure. Unfortunately could not get a handle on the built in intervalometer, i think the Long Exposure Auto NR threw my timings out as I set it up for 21seconds 20 for exposure and 1sec delay. I think I should have done 41seconds to account for the Nikon NR routine.
Focus needs work, and also there seems to be some star trailing and comma present. Maybe should have taken shorter exposures, as I was using the 500/FL rule.
