What dates are favorable for everyone for May trip to Bretti. ?

May New Moon is on the 26th.

SPSP is on 25th to 28th May (sold out I hear)

My best window of opportunity is anytime from 24th May to 29th May. But I would not be looking to go for that Full duration. 3 or 4 days would probably do for me.
This covers a weekend so that may be helpful to those who have trouble getting time off work.
On the other hand, Bretti does tend to attract a few more campers over the weekends, as you would expect. So at least one or two weekdays might be a good idea for those who can.

This is just my initial thoughts. Happy to work in with others commitments.
and weather.

Hope for fine DRY weather. No rain. No dew. No Snow. Gentle breezes. and Good Company.

With the New Moon on friday the 26th, it would seem that weekend is ideal for the workers. Maybe a few days prior for the long stayers. It is useful to have a few site holders there before the weekend to stake our claim on our spot.

24th to the 28th sounds good to me. I will put it in the Diary, and see how the weather goes this time. :D

Oh, Crud.

28th is the day Sue gets back from China, so I'll be in Sydney that evening.

Looks like I will be christening the new deck at home...

I have emailed my work suppliers, and have advised of intended leave dates this month from 24th to 29th.
I guess its official for me then. All we need is the weather to co-operate with us.
3 weeks and counting down....

I certainly hope the weather plays the game after the disaster on the last planned trip, where NSW copped a drenching.

I had the occasion to venture up to Forster to-day.

Get well Geoff.
I checked Accuweather's extended forecast for the later part of next week and it is still showing sunny days and cold (4C) nights (which is a good indicator of clear night skys), for the period of Thursday - Sunday. Of course it's still too far away to be very reliable but the New Moon period does seem to be falling into the clear gap periods between the winter Lows, which seems to be a return to 'normal' as far as this time of year is concerned.

I need to find some rear brake pads for the Jeep, but still hopeful..

I hope your clears quick Allan, I am getting worse, not better, despite munching on vitamin C's till the cows come home.
I better get to the Doctors to see if they can do anything.

I'll have to stop work, and may not go camping if it hangs on. A real bummer, as I need a break badly.

The forecast continues to look good from Wednesday through to Sunday, at least according to Accuweather, and the Bureau.

I am willing to take that advice from both of you ( Glen and Mr. Owl ).
I may have to investigate the medicinal benefits of some Port.
Ill start packing tomorrow ready for a departure on Wednesday.
I will bring a small fire pit to keep warm on the cold nights as well.
I will try and keep it away from those who don't want a fire near them.
I do need a break away, and this may do me the world of good.

Looks like I will be there Wednesday afternoon about 3, but leaving Saturday morning to attend a work reunion/farewell.

Looks like 3 good nights of clear skies.
High humidity may cause some dew problems so come prepared.

I think I will bring my push bike, to get some exercise during the day, if anyone else wishes to do same, that would be great.

Have a good trip Geoff. Looks like i am out of this one. The camper battery, which i have on a trickle charger, won't hold a charge and will have to be replaced. I must have knocked the cord loose sometime in the past year. Sorry to miss it.

In tribute of the late , great, Geoff (GMBfilter) Rest in Peace my Friend.

OK, yeah there was dew, but in the scheme of things, it mattered little.
Geoff even managed to get kisses of appreciation fromzsome cute neighbouring campers to whom he showed a grand tour of the winter night sky.:love2:

Sure was great to catch up and get 5 nights in a row under the Stars.
The dew rolled in most nights, but that was usually after a good observing session, and then it was time for the Fire Pit.
Sorry you couldn't make it Glen, and thanks to those who made it a fun time away.
Many many Meteors were seen over the 5 nights.
