Was looking for something to image using Stellarium and found NGC2997. Strangely enough, I don't seem to have imaged this before so thought I'd give it a go. Nice little face on spiral. This is a crop frame.
GSO 10" F4 Newtonian, 628 x 30 seconds unguided, full spectrum modified Canon 1100D, Baader UV / IR cut filter.
Night temps are still around 23c here. Being uncooled, I think this camera starts to perform better when the temps drop below 20c. The air was very humid also at 90%.

Thanks Rick and Colin! I did a search but not a lot of DSLR images of this. It needs more time, and one day in the distant future I'll do a longer version. ;)

Looks very pretty Kevin, the 1100D is performing well considering the temp's, nice round stars as well for un-guided.
I did this last year but it was very noisy, so I'm also imaging this as well with dithering this time, on my second night now.
Cheers
Bill
That's a pretty good image, Kevin. A nice little galaxy. Well done.

Thanks Bill. Good luck with your image. I dither a little (manually after a sub set). 15 to 20 hours would be nice for this target too. Guiding for this scope is coming, with longer subs.... eventually. I'm just a bit short of $ at the moment after the neighbour wanted me to go 1/2 in a fancy fence.
Thanks David!

Thanks Greg! I know from a search this galaxy is one of your favourites.
