Just trying a bit of video on Jupiter, there seem to be a dark spot above the GRS. Looks too big to be a transit shadow.
Anyone else seen it?

Just came inside from a quick look at Jupiter and the moon and yes, I could see that dark spot and couldn't work out what it was.

I figured it's just one of the normal dark patches that's a bit larger tonight. It certainly stands out - it was obvious in my 66mm refractor.

Attached screen shot is from Sky Safari.

Here is a shot from 3am, morning of the 13th of april. There does definitely seem to be a spot in the NEB, to the right of the GRS. Also, it seems the GRS is getting redder?

Hi Bo.

I noticed it too in my ETX 125 with a 13mm Nagler; thought I was seeing things!
Never seen something this odd and unexpected on Jove before!

Cheers bigjoe.

Certainly looks redder /dark salmon to me! And that spot is what I've seen also....quite bizarre!
