Anyone in SE QLD (or environs) interested in my Skywatcher 300mm f5 GOTO Dobsonian in very good condition? Its a very relunctant sale but need to raise some funds.
I haven't had the optics tested, but they certainly exceeded my expectations and a number of times I've seen the companion stars of Sirius and Antares, which are notoriously difficult to see. Although primarily a visual scope, it is certainly possible to do planetary imaging and "Lucky" Deep sky imaging with it. I've posted a number of examples of what it is capable of as an imaging system as well as giving some idea of the optical performance. I've also added a fan and rubberised baffle at the back of the primary mirror to help stabilise mirror temperature. The coatings are still in good nick (apart from some dust which is unavoidable). Included are the standard 12 and 25mm Plossl eyepieces which give 60x and 125x, as well as a 2 to 1.25" adapter.
Pickup prefered in SE QLD, although I might consider some travel (i.e meet in the middle type arrangement). $1400 ONO.
