After a wait for an adapter I now have a TOA Flattener on the RC8. I had the scope on the bench to try and nail collimation then was using NGC5139 for testing the other night, full moon and all.

The flattener has made quiet a difference but the collimation is still a squeak out.

Given there were clear skies for once, despite a full moon I couldn't resist another go at this beautiful cluster.

2.5ish hours of RGB with the RC8 and STL6303e setup.

Large Here NGC5139 test (http://astrob.in/full/291424/0/)

Thanks for looking

Nice work! Good star colours, which can be difficult to nail with this subject.

Nice image! Great not to let the full moon stop things.
Cheers,

Very nicely resolved and the colour is good! Looks like some tilt in the top of the frame but that may be the collimation you mentioned.

Great test image, David. High expectations for your first real image with this set up

Thanks Rick, seem to have spent far too long tweaking but all ready to go once the weather behaves

Thanks Colin. Took a look on the web to get a feel for processing and I think it's close. Will get to that last bit of tilt shortly.

Cheers, feeling guilty putting this up as thee are some really good images around at the moment but grabbing anything while I can at the moment. Fresh targets being lined up

With hanks Mike, appreciated.

Was interesting processing this out. Not many gradient issues that PI couldn't deal with and it's such an easy target.

Cheers:thumbsup:

Looking good there. Especially during a bright moon.

Greg.

Really good image David:thumbsup:. Sharp stars and good colour. Can't go much better than that for a GC.
