Hello to all
Working last night from an equatorial locality it was possible...finally...to capture Jupiter during opposition.
Visually it made a fine site through a C14 HD edge with a 25mm eyepeice. Most obvious were the blue festoons and a fountain of yellow gas seeming to stream vertically upwards from the 12:00 o'clock position of the great red spot.
The atmosphere was reasonably stable but high humidity defeated the truly crisp seeing I normally get from the Himalayas.
We had fun capturing some video sequences and I have posted one here for all to see.
