Hello to all
Working last night from an equatorial locality it was possible...finally...to capture Jupiter during opposition.
Visually it made a fine site through a C14 HD edge with a 25mm eyepeice. Most obvious were the blue festoons and a fountain of yellow gas seeming to stream vertically upwards from the 12:00 o'clock position of the great red spot.
The atmosphere was reasonably stable but high humidity defeated the truly crisp seeing I normally get from the Himalayas.
We had fun capturing some video sequences and I have posted one here for all to see.

You got the GRS to look straight down your scope. You can see a hint of blue ribbons just above the equator. Nice work.

Thanks for your kind comment....
We had a memorable night, more so for the fact that there were no clouds. Equatorial latitudes come with lots of cloud parties.....in fact almost 3 weeks of unabated gaseous festivities.
Post processing was tricky and i am learning how to try and deal with high humidity that has a definite impact on the outcome.
Hope to post more with a trip to the Himalayas coming up shortly. :-)
