Look at buying this camera

Hello all just wondering i am looking at a Canon EOS 1300D DSLR as an entry level camera as it is at a good price would this be an ok camera to start with just want to hear your thoughts.

so most DSLRs are pretty good for astrophotography provided that they have the ability to shoot in RAW (you do not want to shoot in jPEG) and you can manipulate the settings such as exposure time and ISO. Having said that there are a few other considerations. many people do like the canon range because they tend to be low noise and there is a host of third party software for operating via a computer and they have readily available adaptors for use with a telescope. the main piece of software that i would recommend starting out, it does pretty much everything, is backyard EOS. looking at the supported cameras, it appears that this is not on the list, that would be a concern for me. finally i have read that the noise on this camera is not great, that will be an issue with deep sky imaging though i am not sure how it compares to others in the price range. a lot of people use the 1100D and 1000D with a lot of success (these are supported by BYEOS), others may have other recommendations. i used a 600D with some success but found the noise on hot nights a bit of an issue.

Have a look at APT (Astrophotography Tool), it supports 1300D. The free version has more than enough functionality than most of people will ever need.

1300D is ok, I'll go with Bojan on this one.
I've got the 1200D, it's predecessor and it works well. Mine is unmodified ( so far ) If I get a proper astrocam ( fingers crossed ASI 1600 mc Cooled) I'll probably do an full spectrum IR mod on it.
