Hello to all

I have processed a series taken from a robotic telescope session. The results were reasonable and processing was completed utilizing a series of readily available freebies.
Thanks to the following resources.
FITS Liberator
Deep Sky Stacker
The Gimp
The image consists of stacked RGB and Ha exposures of between 20-40 second exposures depending on the wavelength.
Seeing was excellent with steady skies.

Looks OK for a first effort Sam, what version of Gimp are you using the 8 bit or the new 16 bit version?

Cheers
Bill

Hi there Bill

I am using the 16bit version and developed a workflow based on some useful tips from online resources.
The Ha frames had a bit of guesswork applied to get the color balance right, but this was also done from extensive experience looking at color images in this wavelength online.
I am curious as to how to get the thumbnails of images showing on the thread. Have i missed something with photo posts?

Thanks for your comment and kind words.
Sam

Thanks for the update on Gimp, I might give it a try, now its 16 bit.
I have only ever used a OSC camera so I can't comment on Ha processing.

As far as displaying a thumbnail goes, just above where you type, on the top row is a paper clip. Click on that and that will bring up another menu, where you point to your file name and then press the upload button. The image must be less than 200Kb and as you will see you can upload up to 8 images per post.

Cheers
Bill

Hello Bill
Thanks for the pointer on posting.
Noted on the image size limitation.
Looking forward to making more contributions here in the near future.

Clear skies and fewer cloud parties
