I took a couple of nights on NGC 4038-4039 during the full moon. I wasn't expecting much, but I was getting the spacing right on the ASA 1.8x barlow and coma corrector in my venerable 10" f4.45 Meade Starfinder newt which gives it an efl of about 2m. The exposures are 10 and 15 minute subs through the RGB and L filters, for a total of about 9hrs so far. I was pleasantly surprised to get a hint of the tidal tails of this pair, so hopefully when the weather clears I can have another go at this with less moon about.
Comments welcome!
Cheers,
Andrew.

Thanks Ray! It's one of my favorite objects so I think I'll keep at this one for a bit longer.
Thanks Mike and Trish!

Thanks Tim - that mount certainly eliminates most of the headaches!
Thanks Rick - hopefully more data won't make it any worse :)
Thanks Mike - The longest I ever guided something on film was 2 hours! And there was never any way of re-visiting the following night. Cheaper though...
I've added another 4 hours overnight and it seems to help, so I'm going to keep going for a bit.
