Here's a heavily cropped image of a number of NGCs in Ha (the second image has been annotated for them). I find it interesting that the feature between NGC2040 and NGC2053 doesn't seem to have a "name".

Image Details:
Sharpstar 107PH with 0.67 FR (f4.4)
ZWO ASI1600MM-C at -15C
41 x 300 sec Ha at Gain 139, offset 21
40 Darks

It's a bit noisy to me, so I think I'd like to get more data to hopefully enhance it further - especially around NGC2014/2020. I've also got some SII as well and eventually would like to get OIII. I suspect the Ha is going to heavily dominate though as the SII is faint.

As usual CC/feedback etc welcome. P.S. Yes, it has some of those terrible stars as mentioned in this thread: http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=154850 :)

Oh well done! Not in the top 5 easy targets.

Nice framing too. In our attempt, we thoughtlessly chopped the top off.

Could be rewarding to throw another night or two at it, should the sky miraculously clear.

Looks good, Chris. Good to see someone is out there despite the heat and the moon :)

Thanks Mike. It's not looking good for my position here - if it doesn't clear up soon I'll lose access to that area for a long time. I have to wait for it to get above the house and then there's a few hours before it's too low again.

Rick: Except for the clouds, it's lovely outside right now - shorts and t-shirt weather! :)

Nice composition there, I've always liked these LMC guys.
It will be well worth while gathering the O3 & S2 for a complete image.

It's mostly in the hands of the weather now. I also have to wait a few days for the moon as well to go for the OIII.
