March 10, 2017.

NASA has published raw, unprocessed images of Saturn's tiny Moon
Pan, which were taken by Cassini on the 7th March 2017.

Pan is embedded in the Encke gap in the outer part of the A-ring and
has a weird and wonderful shape.

That's not a moon, it's an alien flying saucer!

Wow what an object!
It almost (to my eye) looks like it get' 'sculpted' by ring particles.
Anyone aware of its orbital characteristics - is it tidally-locked?

According to an article I read on the weekend (sorry, I can't find the link), all of the ice and dust that it picks up in the ring-gap that it inhabits land on its equator, forming a ridge.
