Hello,
I had a go last night at a moon shot. One of my first real attempts I guess.
I used the WO 80mm for this and the 20Da of course.
Stacked a few in registax.
here you go
not as good as it could be but it's a start
cheers

Hey Frank!!!
Nice work, and welcome back to the solar system:lol:
You'll have to have a go at Saturn now. Go on. You know you want to:P;)

Thanks guys,
Ken you have no idea how much i struggled to try and get the focus right! It's not easy looking in the back of the camera trying to adjust focus...even with the live view of the 20Da mostly because this time i couldnt use the Hartmann mask on a star
glad you think it's not off
Matt: I've been thinking of Saturn...definitely will try at some stage, i thnik i'll need a good powermate or something though, i've only got a 2x barlow
thanks for the feedback
cheers

I just had ago with my ETX105 and the D80.
Now I saw your result and realise how far off I am.
Certainly focussing is difficult (in my case at F16) and I was using a slower speed and I suspect the ETX mount is shaking.
Nice detail and Contrast in your Picture.

Thanks Jakob,
you're not wrong about how hard it is to get the focus right. On the positive side though i found my originals were a bit blurry but stacking several in registax and then playing with wavelets a bit brought out the sharpness

Very good indeed. The full moon is supposed to be the hardest to capture.
For a comparison ( not trying to hijack your thread).
I had a go at Luna last night with the Canon Powershot. Tripod mounted, using 12x zoom at ISO 100. I took 32 high res shots and stacked them, cropping, USM and sharpen using Canon's Zoombrowser EX.
I just set focus to infinity and hoped for the best.
I might try it in auto mode tonight, and see if the camera can take better pictures.
Nice work jjj
So many talented people at this website.
Well done
