DSLR for baby photos +/- astrophotography

Hi guys
I have a 10inc dob at home with goto for visual viewing.
Looking at having a kid soon so wanted to get a relatively good camera for photos+videos.

So, i wanted to get a decent beginner DSLR to get good quality photos of kid.

But i also wanted to make sure it would be okay for some basic astrophotography, probs just wide field +/- T ring for planets.

TLDR need basic DSLR mainly for kid photos, but okay for astrophotography.

From googling found the 1100D and 450D were good beginner astroph, but unsure how they'll turn out for kidphotos

I'd be looking at one of the Sony A7 cameras, superb for astrophotography and a great everyday camera to boot.

Almost any DSLR is good for kiddie pix. Most have settings for portrait ( soft skin focus etc ) in their menu's so that is the easy part.
Much as I love my SONY gear Canon has it with the tethering software ( BYEos ) for astro pix. 450D is an older camera @12 mp, I'd look at the 1200D or it's replacement the 1300D. They are both at the bottom end of the Canon range but have 18mp low noise sensors and good menus for everything else. I don't know what Aussie prices are like on them but I'm more than happy with my 1200D for Astro and it is quite capable of 'normal' pictures as well.

Is the 1200D okay for low light everyday pics?
And do the included lenses allow for widefield photography or do we need to buy another one?

The 1200D is going for $450 new, $1300D is 499 new currently!

Also are there any options for better 'normal' pics?
There are so many versions of the canons - how does the 1200d/1300d compare to 5d or 60d?
