Here's another one slightly off the beaten track, the reflection nebula IC 2631 (AKA CED 112) in Chameleon. Lots of dust in the field here.

Cheers

Steve

That's absolutely beautiful, Steve. Very sharp, and subtle contrast, nicely showing the wispy tendrils.

Strongly reminiscent of a similar region in Corona Australis, with dust, reflection and emission nebulosity.

Is H-alpha a luminance channel or is it added in as red?

Lovely image.

Best,
M & T

Thanks M&T. There isn't any Ha - it's just a simple LRGB. To me it also resembles the Iris nebula in the North.

Thanks Greg

Interesting target and lovely image, Steve. I'd like to do a wide field of that area one day...

Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks Rick. A wide field version would be certainly interesting. There's a lot of other stuff in that vicinity.

That's really nice Steve, lovely dusty region, kinda reminiscent of M78.

Thanks Colin. Yes I guess it is a bit like M78. Also similar to the Iris nebula in the north (NGC 7023).

Although quite smooth really, that dark area near the top gives the dust a nice 3D feel, looks like a bit Corona Australis, a nice result Steve

Thanks Mike. I was pretty happy with it. As you remarked in your NGC 3132 shot the skies have been fairly good the last few days.
