Conditions were the best they have been for months on Monday night. After Jupiter had come from behind the massive tree in my garden I could capture Ganymede transiting and IO coming from out from behind. The tree is very anoying:mad2: . Thinking of giving it a trim:confuse3:

Great shot simon!

What focal length were these shot at? What barlow did you use? What's the resolution of the LPI?

The scale looks about 2500mm, I'd never be able to fit the moons in that far off the planet unless I made a composite.

Did you capture the moons and planet separately?

Nice one. I sometimes wonder if in this effort of getting the closest and sharpest we lose sight of the big picture.

Cheers guys
I'm not too sure about focal lengths:ashamed: but the focal length of the telescope is 1200mm and the LPI itself gives a magnification similar to a 6mm eyepiece I also used a times 2 barlow. I hope this helps. All moons were captured in the same shot with Europa needing a little brightening, Callisto is out of the fov.
Thanks
Simon
