Here's a Hubble palette version of NGC 3199 which I thought I would do after getting some SII data over the last few days. Still not a spectacular object but there is now considerably more intricate detail visible. Anyway it's time to move on to something else I think.

Cheers

Steve

Not the most interesting of objects but you have picked up a nice level of detail embedded within the nebulosity.

You certainly captured the smile, Steve! Definitely a difficult object.

That's much better than the LRGB version. Lots of fine detail captured.

And it is a very interesting object.

yes it is an interesting object - a WR in action, apparently with the star itself moving through the surrounding medium at 60km/s, which gives the neb a lopsided structure http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/1989A%26A...226..270D.

fascinating object and a quality image - thanks Steve.
