Hello Allan, I've only been to MM once before but would love to come up. Would be good to get some experienced eyes to have a look at my recently recoated 15" scope and for me to have a look through other similarly sized scopes.

Try blocking out, on the calendar, the 5 days prior, and after, every New Moon for the coming Year.
So that nothing else can be booked accidentally.

Never been to one of these so pardon my ignorance. Around what time would you reach there? Do you intend on camping the night there?
Used to have a small 4" refractor back home, don't have a scope here in Australia though.

We normally arrive just prior to sunset. So that would be around 7:30 this time of year.
No camping permitted at this site, it is operated by the Pony Club during the day, we normally stay till around mid-night.
There are no facilities available to us at site. So bring everything you need.
No scope - no worries. If the weather is good there should be plenty of scopes to share views with. Maybe bring some binos too if you like.
Hoping for a change of forecast. Its been quite a while since we had a good observing session. :(

Yes. It looks like it will be completely clouded out Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. :(
Is anyone interested in Thursday (23rd) (tomorrow) night.
The following Satuday is my wedding anniversary (39th) so probably not good for me.

Sorry no one could make it.
I guess it was late notice.
But worth a try.
Looks like its going to be OK tonight.
But not driving over 100k (return) to be by myself.
Guess I'll just setup in my backyard.
Maybe next month. Pony Club one-nighter or 4 day Astro-camp?
Bretti?
When will the weather and stars align? (hopefully next new moon) :)

Tonight looks like another cracker Allan, the last three have been wonderful, except for a slight breeze. Good luck with your backyard session, i am doing the same from the obs but am going to wait for midnight when M83 gets above 40 degrees. I am hopeful of a Bretti trip soon, its been a year since my last trip up there.

I would love to get away to BRETTI next New Moon if weather is kind to us.
Such a shame about tonights rain and heavy cloud cover. It seems we get clear skies only when there is a Moon out.

I was outside at 1:30am this morning and the sky was perfectly clear up here, and it stayed that way till dawn. So in hindsight perhaps the Pony Club might have been worthwhile last night if you were prepared to wait. Tonight (Sunday) might be the same, Good luck.
