I have a 2.5” Moonlite focuser, rotator and dual controller for sale as one package. I purchased them directly from Moonlite about two years ago. to replace a 3" focuser in my 4" TS refractor.
All in as new condition, there are only small cosmetic marks on the 68mm to 48mm adapter. I controlled the unit with SGP, and there is also Moonlite software (on their website) that can control the unit. Everything that is in the photograph is included (well, not the table…). I also bought an extension flange and shorter cords to power the motors, and there are a few adapters as well. One would most likely need to get Ron from Moonlite to machine a flange to attach it to the telescope (these cost about A$130). It is a quality unit, no flex, no fuss. A reliable focuser and rotator with an external temperature probe.
With SGP, I could download any astro image (even jpg), plate-solve it with a right click and SGP would slew the mount to that exact position, and it would automatically rotate the camera to a fraction of a degree to align it with the original image. I loved that feature!
Reason for selling? Although this is a wonderful unit I am soon getting a new telescope, and it was more sensible to get the new telescope also with a new focuser, than shipping this focuser to the manufacturer of the telescope.
UPDATE: A 12V DC power adapter is now also included with a fixed cord. I tested the unit and it works as it should (see the attached new photo of the controller).
The entire new package costs over A$2000, plus shipping and tax. Asking $1200 (shipping NOT included).
