:) Hi all,
Well this is my first attempt to imaging in 20 years!!
Thanks to Darren ( wombat_in_space) who lent me a Meade LPI to go with a DSI I have form Neil on loan as well. A good way to see if I like imaging.
I by no way have the knowledge in computers like other great imagers here.
But I’m learning. I can set a scope up ok so that bit is covered.

Now the below is at prime focus and gee that is hard to get right!!
My scope is F12, 6” at FL1800. I just let the computer do its stuff with the LPI and the below is the result. I have no idea how to use the software so it’s learn as I go.

The seeing was poor maybe 5-10 and Moon is low in the West.
I have tried the DSI but I like the Moon and planets more so if I get into this I will stick to them. I tried a 3x Barlow to see the image scale and it looks ok for the planets.
So in the image apart from focusing if someone sees something grossly wrong can the tell me please.

Thanks.:)

Dave

I reckon they are great for your first in so many years.... the very ordinary seeing and no processing.

I was out last night eyeballin' the moon and can attest to the tough conditions.

Well done, mate ... and take/post some more:thumbsup:

They look good, Dave. :) You just need to use an image format other than gif. png or jpeg are better. Here you only very few greylevels in the images, which is why they have a newsprint look.

Yeah. Like Steve says. Use a different format ie jpeg for your images

yeh Steve is right, I was wondering why there was so little dynamic range - I didn't realise it was gif.

Great stuff Dave, congrats on your first foray back into the imaging world :)
