Astronomers suspect that a binary star system in Cygnus is preparing to make one star of two, erupting in a red nova that will be visible to the naked eye.

If anyone wants to follow this star it is also known as GSC 3543:1211
It is a 12.1 star in Cygnus.
RA 19h 29m 16sec + 46°37'20"
I know this event is a fair time into the future, but it may just surprise us by being early;)
Cheers:thumbsup:

They're predicting this will happen in 2022.

I think that is what the thread is all about and it gives us that date, plus or minus 1 year..
