The only problem is, smoke haze lol, if it aint one thing it's another. Now
I'll jump back in the fridge where the rest of the family are hiding from the
heat.
regards,CS
Rob
Like I said... hope all other conditions are favourable. Shame about the smoke haze.
Now, where's that beer? Still 34 degrees here

Thanks Matt, I'll be out there, giving it a go. May point the tube at some doubles as they are more readily resolved when the seeing looks to be that promising.
Cheers
Dennis
Was hoping you'd see this Dennis
Always look forward to your images:thumbsup:

Burn off/ bushfires on Fraser has made things a little ordinary up here, have taken more interest in doubles just now too. Still, overlooking Fraser gives this location 1st rate views of the rising eastern eye candy. Nothing like seeing things rise from low in the east with little pollution- But for those fires!

Yep, the ol' horizon up to about 30 deg or so is pretty thick here. Even the moon at 7:30 last night had a decidedly pinkish cast to it.

Hmm, I wonder if that explains the faint blue, offset aura I am getting around Saturn as I'm punching this morning's avi's through Registax. Even using the RGB align function does not seem to fix this? Maybe the smoke is acting as a colour specific filter that is shifting the blue channel?
Cheers

It was clearer in Brisbane last night. But the Moon looked like it was taking synchronised swimming lessons! And by the time Orion was up, there was a murkiness over the CBD that washed out the entire eastern sky - looked more like full moon sky.

Paul, all that smoke form up north has found its way down into the Brisbane valley. Don't know if the sky is blue (can't see it), but the AIR is certainly blue!
A shame you guys had all that smoke around when the jestream map looked so promising:sadeyes:
The seeing here was, again, horrendous

Tell me about it. Our club is supposed to host a school evening on Tuesday, already postponed twice due to bad weather. Now the weather has finally cleared, it is getting inot full blown fire season! And stinking hot/humid to boot!

I flew over from Brissie to Perth yesterday, and for the ENTIRE journey, the sky outside the window showed this brown haze making the ground almost invisible. We flew above it and it was quite amazing that the layer of haze.smoke ended abruptly - I guess at about 20,000 ft. :)
