I bought the GSO 8" F5 Newtonian from glend (nice to meet you Glen !).
So what's the best coma corrector. I'd be using APS-C size cameras.

I hear good things about the Baader MPCC MkIII. Is this the one, or are there others that are OK ?

Cheers, Chris

Thanks Chris. Yes the Baader MPCC is the one i prefer. You will need a Canon bayonet to T-thread adaptor (Bintel has them). The Baader uses standard Canon sensor backspacing (55mm), so you just screw it onto the bayonet adaptor and its good to go. That's for imaging of course. Check Teleskop-Express for Baader MPCC prices, and make sure you check the export price not the EU price (you will save 19%).
There is the GSO Coma Corrector, i had one and sold it to get the Baader. There is a sticky thread on the Cloudy Nights reflector forum, near the top, which explains how to set up the GSO. The GSO is cheaper.
There are others as well but these two i am familiar with.

I'd definitely go the Baader, from memory it is better corrected so gives smaller spot sizes (better theoretical resolution and flatter image).

Baader is better, the problem is the backfocus with only 55 mm. If you are thinking to do astrophotography you may experience some troubles: filters, OAG, adapters ...
I have GSO 2". It works and has better backfocus, around 65 to 85 mm.
My set:

I must use a very thin Canon/M42 adapter to get an acceptable backfocus.
note: M42 and T2 isn't equal, but some accessories well accept both.

Without filter wheel and Canon/T2 adapter:

note: this set need to use a spacer with the same width of filter wheel to get backfocus, although.
