so i have come to the conclusions that the only way i am able to accurately measure the seeing conditions of my new observatory site and have comparable data to my existing site is to take my rig up there, measure the FWHM and tracking RMS. the only problem is that i dont have a very portable system. rather than building a pier mounting on location, i was wondering if there are any IISers that have a tripod for a PMX+ that i could borrow/rent. i cant really justify spending around 3k on the bisque on for about 2 week's worth of use.

if anyone has one and is willing to lend it out for a short period i would be ever in your debt!

Perhaps you could buy and modify a "lesser" tripod.

Aidan Pm me , I have my Losmandy HD tripod I can lend you, currently sitting in my backyard under a chair cover. but you will need an adapter to put the PMX on it.
