Hi all and a happy new year to all .

For sale here is a real classic from the mid/late 1990's it a Celestron C90 on the EQ2 mount , sold as the 'C3'Mak , along with the C5 SCT , these are not you newer chineese made C90 , this one is made in the USA and is made for astronomy very solid and sexy .

On that its performance is very good on the brighter objects and fainter ones are seen but at 90mm dont expect C8 like views but it was not made as a light bucket :D . It's just a sweet little grab and go , quick look telescope that is fun to use .

Included is the standard 6x25 finder ( much better than the generic chineese ones of today ) , .965 Prism diagonal , .956 24mm , 9mm ortho and 6mm eyepieces and standard hard plastic case for the OTA , its quite cool .
I have added a Vixen dovetail to the ota and a GSO Vixen puk to the mount so they are easily seperated , the origonal way was to undo 2 bolts ( a bit of a pain )
There is also a .965 - 1 1/4 inch adaptor so you can use standard 1 1/4 inch eyepieces and on that all mine come to focus easily .

I really like this scope as its performance belies its size and on that its so easy to take outside all set up and start using within 1/4 of an hour , real neat little telescope all metal and rubber , ZERO !!! plastic anywhere.

Price ,,, ,,,, how $230 plus post for the whole setup sound ?, I really have no idea what its worth .

Thanks for looking .

Brian.

I'm fairly sure these were russian MTO lenses (1000mm f/11) rebadged by Celestron - I had an MTO one years ago that looked identical.

As Brian says, built like tank and optically sharp.

 Thanks Wavy you might be right there , yes its so well made .

Something I forgot to mention is that it has a close focus of about 2.5 meters and with the low power eyepiece it makes an awsome long range microscope , you can get right in close and observe critters , great fun .

Hi Brian,
Can you give me a rough estimate of the weight of the OTA please?
