Wow, im really finding it a challenge and time consuming to process the mono images from the new cam!

This pic is from 31 October, thats how behind i am.

See the flickr link (https://flic.kr/p/PsreVh) for image details.

This is only taken with 30 second subs, as early on i was slowly increasing exposure times. Doing 15 min subs now.

Still, pretty pleased with all the faint stuff i resolved for the 2hrs

For two hours it looks like it has gone reasonably deep, well one Simon :)

You did go pretty deep, Simon. It's a very faint target. Colour looks a bit iffy though :)

Thanks chaps, yes the low level of blue data made colouring hard. Will retweak a bit later.

It's a nice composition Simon, I don't know your camera (30 sec subs just sounds totally bazaar for this object ) but if you can get the colour right it could be a great shot

That's coming along nicely Simon. It's on my to do list.

Sorry a bit off topic, I'm a bit behind the times. The last time I saw your imaging you just got a Sony A7s and had some really cool shots with it. Now your right into it with a mono astro cam. Just curious to know what triggered the transition.

Thanks Mike, haha I was still only experimenting with the camera and frankly having no idea of what i was doing.

I was researching targets and found this, couldnt believe it would fit my fov ok. I really love the galaxies you see, and with the Sony cam it was such a big sensor most look like hot pixels with my little scope!

So now im wondering the best way to fix the colour? Could i do it via PS using the last version and layers to protect background? Or total redo? Please God no!

Kevin, ive always wanted to expand into NB, so a mono cam was a logical next step. Wasnt going to get one for awhile longer, but the price was too good!

The Sony i'm keeping for now, hoping to mount it to the 10inch f4 Royce scope we are building, it will have a much better resolution.

Ah okay cool. Yeah the Sony has the FF sensor which makes everything small. I love galaxies too... and nebula... and comets...

DSLR for me a while longer yet. Astro cams are still too expensive.

Same here Kevin, cant wait for 45p to get in a better position.

The ZWO is phenomenal value, even better if you avoid 3nm Astrodon filters!!!!
