I am Reynald from W.Australia.
Recently, on impulse, I bought a Telescope: D:80 F:1200 in a big wooden box.
After some hunting found out that it is from 1979 and was made by Meade and some other brand.
after a good clean and maintenance ( the focuser was stiff and the tube was pitted) now it is in good shape.
I had in my junk boxes a motorized mount from a garage sale treasure and used it instead of the original mount.
I am in the process to make a better tripod and looking to control it with a laptop.
It is a new field, previously i was into microscopes (got 4).
Using my microscopes cameras I am experimenting with the telescope, so far the results are not too good, but I am persevering.
As you can see, my evenings are very occupied and I go to bed late LOL.
I already read half of he forum and enjoy every minute of it.
The wealth of knowledge is staggering.
