Continuing my work in this area of the sky, here is my version of RCW32 (Gum 15) in Vela. Shot in narrowband (Baader filters) with an ASI1600M-C camera on a Bresser 152mm f5 Petzval Corrected Achromat. Subs consist of: 46 x 300 sec Ha (3hrs 50 min), 46 x 300 sec Sii (3 hrs 50 min), and 30 x 300 Sec Oiii ( 2hrs 30 min). Camera sensor was running at -25C. Mount is a belt drive NEQ6 Pro on a pier. Some curvature is evident as I have still not found a flattener that plays well with this corrected acrho, as a result there is a slight crop. Very little Oiii in this image, in fact it could have been left out imho as it seems to bloat the stars. The bright star in the centre is the double star ( HD 74804).
Yes it does look like the Trifud Nebula doesn't it.

Interesting area Glen, looks a bit like the head of the Seagull :)

A fascinating object Glen, definitely worthy of attention. Does look a little like the Trifid I agree.

Good one Glen, yeah sorta the Red Trifid.

I'm settling down to 15 min subs @75 gain, seems to get me the best SNR and details. But only marginally so, 3 by 5 min stacked gives very close results!
