Unfortunately I am going to have to pull out, something completely out of my control has popped up and I will not be able to get over there.
I am a little upset by this as I was looking forward to coming over and meeting the guys. Also having a bit of "me" time away from the Wife and Kids :P

Hi Tony,
We are located approx 38k west of Ballarat Victoria. Up in the mountains. Snake Valley is a small rural town of 250 people and lovely dark skies.
The blue circle on both Maps gives our location

hi Mill, the Peppinella Motel 120 Glenelg Hwy ph 0353359666 is pretty good we stayed there a couple of years ago and it is on the main rd to Snake Valley about 15 min away.
Thanks for that Mick.
Looks pretty good.
Already bought an Minolta Dimage 7i for those nights and making an motorized platform for the dob so i can shoot back at those pesky stars;)
Now if i can get some clear nights to fool around with the camera ill be happy.
ballaratdragons
07-01-2007, 03:20 PM
That's good news that you are coming Mill
Peppinella is also the closest Motel to here. It's where some have stayed during previous Camps.

I stayed at the pepinella motel as well, not a bad place.. Not ideal for a family with 3 kids - no kitchen area, main bed in the loungeroom etc, but good for its proximity to snake valley and ballarat.
Haha lucky me. I stopped at 2 kids but then again we still have ebay if i had 1 too many ;) ;)
So Peppinella it will be.
Booking time.

I hate to sound like a moderator, but can we please stick to talking about the bookings for the Camp. I am trying to sort out all the accommodation, and it ain't an easy task.
My post, with the important questions to those that are coming to Camp, has been lost way back before a discussion about Birds Observatory where it probably won't be read any more.
(I want to know about Birds Observatory too, but not in this thread)
The people coming to camp, please scroll back to post number 35 in this thread.
Thanks all.

:help:Booked in for the Camp through Ken for the 16th, but I'd just like you to confirm the location as it doesn't seem to be on the SVAA web-site. My info has Snake Valley Camp on the Linton-Carngham Road south of Snake Valley, on the LHS heading south, and between the Pittong-SV Rd junction & Brumbys Rd junction. Is this right? BTW, you Snake Valleyans should get onto Google Earth - how dare they just cut you off like that!
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the event.....
Cheers -
