Hi Guys,
My best one yet of M42.
Taken with a 150mm Esprit ED Triplet, Unmodded Canon 600D with cold finger, x25 5 minute Subs, Darks, Flats etc.
Processed Pixinsight.
Sharpened with Photoshop.
Not front page material for Sky and Telescope, but I'm bloody happy with it.
Cheers
Peter

Still quite a nice FOV with a 6", nicely done :)

Thanks Brett and Colin for you comments.
One of the main reasons for getting the 150mm was for a larger FOV (and it nice to have a large refractor too).
My Primary Telescope is a Celestron C11, which has a good FOV for Galaxies and small planetray Nebulae, but not so good for the larger Nebulae.
Cheers

Nice job, now you need to take some short subs[say 20-30 secs] so you can
stop the trapezium from being blown out.

Hi Ramo,
I do have a few short subs of the trapezium , I have seen how to do it on Photoshop, but not sure that it would be real easy under PixInsight.
It is certainly one trick I have thought about trying.

Easy, RangeMask is your friend there. Especially if you havent clipped the whites you can just use Curves and RangeMask.
