I have a 2009 MacBook pro with a faulty wireless card (I think). I have seen how to replace it on line and it looks straight forward and the cards are about 50US dollars on ebay- is there any potential pitfalls I am overlooking before I get my screw driver out?
I.e will the U.S wireless card (specific) for this model/year, have any issues with my frequency at home or are they all standard?
thanks

Hi Graham,

The 802.11 WiFi standards are global and a US sourced card will work here. There are some geographical variances in which channels are used, but the hardware is the same everywhere.

Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks mate- will prob do this in the NY as I am almost 100% it is the wireless card that is buggered- it sits in the corner of the lid where the kids have been known to pull at. :thanx:
