Overnight minimum temperature was 24°C after a day when it reached 44°C thankfully the 6kw AC in the observatory kept the mirror below 33°C so that I could start Venus as the sun went down. As is common recently at 3.30am when I opened the roof the clouds started to roll in from the east and stayed until sunrise making a colour capture very difficult. Small gaps allowed for a CH4 and a few 700nm images although of only average quality. The weather is set to remain hot but the seeing may improve in the coming days as the jet stream continues to moderate and everything is so hot it surely can’t get any hotter.
