Hi everyone in IIS!
I'm RayOfLight (first name's Remus) coming from a place far off (Singapore) and have lots of light pollution. Here is an image of Eta Carinae taken in hydrogen alpha (6nm) from my balcony back home using a 3-inch refractor and the ST2K-XM, to share with everyone here. Comments are welcomed too!. Just gotten into CCD imaging not too long, but the weather is bad enough to render such pursuits as rare occurences, so whenever there are clear sky opportunities, we just got to grab them. I have been to Australia twice, one during the 2002 Solar Eclipse in December, and another to Rockhampton for military training. The skies are just so good in Australia, nothing like what we have in Singapore and even Malaysia. I remembered the pristine dark skies when we stargazed in Flinders, where short exposures were enough to show all the intricate nebulosities in the Orion complex even on film. Would certainly like to come over again, probably for the upcoming January star party, but we got to sort out some transportation issues first. Looking forward to seeing everyone! :-)))
Cheers!
