I've been looking at this image so long I have eye fatigue now so I think I'll just leave it here and reassess in the morning in the cold hard light of day!

I've never shot it with a mono cam before so was happy to see the bump in detail. I think the background isn't totally neutral though which is why I may need to revisit it tomorrow when my eyes (and liver) have had a break.

Errors all over your image mate. Gas and dust everywhere! Maybe a tad too bright? A very good start, cant wait to see more tweak results

Examining the 64 bit histogram, there is a blue cast of a tad over 3000 counts. I think it looks even better if you up the blue zero point to remove that, and no information is lost. Otherwise, spot on.

Yum. The Hyperstar gives a great result in short order. Nice blending of the different exposure lengths.

Thanks all! You're absolutely correct Placidus. I woke up this morning, took one look at it with fresh eyes and thought "That's too blue", pulled in the blue mid point in levels and re-uploaded. Glad I waited before posting on other channels. I'm enjoying this method of mixing data from two different cameras, and shooting with the mono this year has given a nice increase to the overall detail.

You've certainly picked up a lot of dust in the region! Going mono certainly has its advantages, I have noticed that playing between DSLR and mono imaging.

Your stars are looking better now, your original version had too many white stars, most of the stars in this field are quite red traditionally.
