Just on the off-chance of an aurora, we booked a B&B (just for one night during our 10 days in Tassie) with a south-facing balcony (as per their website picture) at Primrose Sands. We got very lucky with a strong (G2) aurora, that was visible by naked eye even before it was fully dark. The aurora lasted many hours - and was the best one we have seen in Australia.

Beautiful. Is that on the Susan's bay Road side? Nice spot there!

Thanks Joe. As you would know from Norway - it's all about being in the right place at the right time! (And then making sure you go outside for a look.)

Hi Chris
Looks amazing.
The memories! I used to live at Primrose Sands, loved it!
Never got to see an aurora when we were there.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Gav.
Interestingly, our B&B hosts had noted 'a green light' in the sky at various times over the few years that they'd been living there - as apparently had other locals - but didn't know what it was, until we educated them!
