Hi everyone,

here's an image I did recently using an SBIG ST-402 guider/imager. It's one of my first images using the SBIG camera and not particularly a good image - nevertheless here it is. The image is a composite of 10 x 4 minute exposures, dark and bias subtracted with IRIS software with my 12" f/5 GSO telescope on my Samson equatorial mount.

One of the interesting things in this image is that I've managed to image objects which exceed Magnitude 19. The object marked A is GSC2 S03323205159 at Mag 19.07 and the object marked B is GSC2 S03323203949 at Mag 19.13.

There's a slightly higher res image here

Hi Paul, I think you have captured some very nice detail in that galaxy and to capture mag 19+ stars as well is very impressive.

great stuff

I like the reverse psychology on the subject title :P

Great image Paul, I enjoyed it a lot. Lovely barred spiral, very interesting and makes me want to observe it visually next time out.

Gee the detail in the galaxy disk is amazing, a pronounced bar plus outer rings, fantastic image.
Compare with a DSS survey image

Yours shows as much detail if not more!
