Late Milky Way Panorama

Experimenting with optimum exposure lengths.

This one is 3 x 305 second images at ISO1600 and F2.0 using a Samyang 12mm F2.0 lens and a Fujifilm XT2 camera on a Vixen Polarie. It seems to have retained star colour which is the first thing to go when overexposing these shots. The longer exposure takes more processing so that is a plus. Its a more robust image.

It's a lovely shot Greg, the XT2 looks to be a brilliant canards to shoot with.

I love how the Milky Way arms hit both edges of the frame at the horizon :)

Cheers Colin. It was quite cold when I took this and the long exposures seem to take forever when you are standing in the cold and its very windy!

Great image! I really like the aspect ratio and this milky way stitch looks much more natural as a late season, more like what you see than the big arching winter panos where the distortion is more obvious.

I agree too sharp an arch is not a pleasant look but of course it can be higher resolution when its higher up.
